1. Running a Virus Scan (Windows Security)
Step 1: Open Windows Security
- Click the Start Menu.
- Type Windows Security and open the application.
Step 2: Run a Quick Scan
- Select Virus & threat protection.
- Click Quick scan.
- Wait for the scan to complete. Windows will report any detected threats.
Step 3: Run a Full Scan (Recommended if issues persist)
- In the same Virus & threat protection menu, scroll down and click Scan options.
- Select Full scan.
- Click Scan now.
- Note: A full scan can take an hour or more depending on the system and storage size.
2. If the Scan Finds a Threat
- Follow the on-screen instructions to quarantine or remove the threat.
- Restart the PC after the action is completed.
3. If the Scan Does Not Resolve the Issue
